“Combined rate” is the base rate plus the bonus rate when it applies — the bonus column shows exactly what you need to do to actually earn it.

Example using NAB iSaver’s current rates: $10,000 opening balance, $200/month, over 12 months, missing the bonus condition in 2 of those months.
Note: this product’s bonus is introductory — the bank’s own condition limits it to 4 months, after which the rate drops to the base rate no matter what you do. The figures below account for that.
Every available bonus month met
$311
interest earned
2 months missed
$278

Cost of missing it
$33

Interest compounds monthly on the running balance (deposits/withdrawals during a month are not modelled intra-month). Missed-bonus months are spread evenly across the period, not bunched at the start or end — this is an assumption, not a projection of which specific months you'll miss. Rates are held constant for the full projection period — real variable rates change over time. This product's bonus is introductory: it applies for the first 4 months only and then stops, whatever you do — the remaining 8 months earn the base rate.
Figures come directly from each bank’s official Consumer Data Right Product Reference Data — the same public, unauthenticated API the Consumer Data Right requires banks to publish for comparison purposes. This is not scraped or copied marketing copy, and it is not a copyright licence to attribute — Product Reference Data publication is a regulatory requirement, not a data grant.
Oz Finance Hub has monitored this data since 7 August 2026. Bank product APIs only ever return current data — there is no way to retrieve a rate that applied before we started observing it, so this page cannot and does not show historical rates predating that date.
Data on this page was last reconfirmed against the bank’s own API on 8 August 2026. Not every row is necessarily checked on the same run — any account marked “may be outdated” above has gone 60 days without a reconfirmed reading and should be double-checked against the bank’s own page before you rely on it. No account below is currently flagged stale.
This is general information, not financial advice, and no account here is presented as “best” or recommended. Read each bank’s own terms and conditions before opening an account: NATIONAL AUSTRALIA BANK.
