Every free calculator on this site costs us something to build, verify and keep current. Here is exactly where the money comes from — and the one rule that governs all of it.
The rule: nothing we get paid for changes a number on this site. Calculator results, rankings and comparisons come from the 114 government figures registered against the official pages they were published on, and from our own engines — never from who has paid us. Which body publishes each figure, what checks it and what we do not check is set out on the methodology page. If the rule ever stopped being true we would rather lose the revenue than the trust.
Currently the only thing anyone pays us for. Pro members pay a subscription for saved calculations without limits, income/dividend/super/spending trackers, the portfolio and CGT module, PDF reports and an AI assistant over their own data. The free tier stays genuinely useful on its own — see Pro vs free for the actual split.
We intend to sell a one-off report — a retirement income projection built from your own recorded figures, bought once rather than subscribed to — for people who want a specific answer at a specific moment. It does not exist yet. There is no checkout for it anywhere on this site and nothing to pay for; the only page describing it takes an email address so we can say when it is ready. We have left this section here rather than deleting it because a funding disclosure that lists income we do not actually earn is worse than one that says what is coming.
There is no referral partnership operating on this site today. No partner is signed, no referral fee is being earned and no introduction is offered anywhere on the site. The rules below are what will apply when one exists, published in advance rather than afterwards. Where we introduce you to a third party — for example a mortgage broker — we may earn a referral fee. Where that applies, we will say so on the page where the introduction is offered, we will name the actual provider rather than “our partner” and we will only pass your details on with your explicit consent. It will never cost you anything or change the rate or fees you are offered. We are not a credit assistance provider and we do not hold an Australian Credit Licence or an Australian Financial Services Licence.
There is no affiliate link anywhere on this site today. Where you see a suggestion next to a calculator right now, it points at another one of our own free tools and earns us nothing. The rules below are what will apply when a real one exists, published in advance rather than afterwards. Some calculators carry a link to a product that suits what the calculator is about — car finance beside the vehicle registration tools, for example. If you click one and go on to sign up, the provider pays us a commission. Every one of them is labelled “Advertisement”, names the actual provider rather than “our partner”, and carries that disclosure at the point you see it, not buried on this page. It never costs you more than going direct. These are plain links: clicking one takes you to the provider's own site and we do not pass them your name, your email or anything you typed into a calculator. Which products appear is our editorial choice about what fits the page — a provider cannot buy a better result, a ranking or a recommendation, and we take the commission on the click-through only. We do not currently carry third-party advertising, and no ad network is loading any code on this site. We have registered the domain with Google AdSense, so our Privacy Policy already names the network and describes what its cookies would do — the disclosure is in place ahead of the first ad rather than after it. If ads do appear they will stay out of a calculator's input or result flow, and they will never sit between you and the number you came for.
