Please read these terms carefully before using Oz Finance Hub. By using the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
These Terms of Service ('Terms') govern your access to and use of the Oz Finance Hub website (ozfinancehub.com.au), operated under ABN 18 941 910 291, and everything on it ('Service'). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Service. We update these Terms from time to time and the 'Last updated' date below always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects your rights we will give you reasonable notice before it takes effect rather than changing the page quietly. Continuing to use the Service after that notice means you accept the updated Terms.
Oz Finance Hub provides free Australian tax and finance calculators, published data and guides, an optional paid Pro subscription and, from time to time, one-off digital products such as spreadsheets and toolkits. All of it is general information and education. None of it is financial product advice, tax advice, credit advice, legal advice or personal advice, and none of it takes your particular circumstances into account. Our calculators produce estimates from the numbers you enter and the published rates we apply — the working is shown so you can check it, but the result is an estimate and your actual position may differ. Please read our Disclaimer as well, because it forms part of these Terms.
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract to use the Service. If you use it for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms. The Service is built for Australian tax and finance rules and is aimed at people in Australia. You are welcome to use it from elsewhere, but the content will not be relevant to your local rules and you are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you.
The calculators are free and need no account. To use Pro features you need one, and the details you give us — your email in particular — need to be accurate and current so we can reach you about your account. Keep your login credentials to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us promptly at hello@ozfinancehub.com.au if you think someone else has got into it. We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached, or where we have to for legal or operational reasons.
Pro is a paid subscription covering saved calculations, calculation history, the income, dividend, expense and super trackers, the share portfolio and capital gains tools, the AI assistant and the other features described on the Pro pages. The current price, billing cycle and inclusions are shown on those pages and confirmed at checkout before you pay. All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where GST applies. Payment is processed by Stripe under its own terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. We may change prices or features, and if we do we will give you notice before the change hits your next renewal so you can cancel first if you would rather not continue.
From time to time we also sell standalone digital products, such as spreadsheets and downloadable templates. These are delivered as a download or as a file you copy to your own account, and access is granted immediately after payment. They are tools you operate yourself: they contain the rates and formulas current at the time of release, they produce estimates and, like the rest of the Service, they are general information rather than tax advice. Where we promise free updates for a period, we will provide them for that period. You may use what you buy for your own affairs, or within your own business if the product page says so. You may not resell it, redistribute it or publish it in whole or substantial part.
You can cancel Pro at any time from the Pro area of the site or through Stripe's customer portal. Cancellation stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund unused time in a period you have already started, and we do not offer change-of-mind refunds on one-off digital products once you have downloaded or accessed them, because you have the whole product at that point. None of that limits the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund if what we sold you is faulty, is not as described, does not do what we said it would do or is otherwise not of acceptable quality — a major failure entitles you to a refund and to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss. If you think that applies to you, email hello@ozfinancehub.com.au and tell us what went wrong. We would much rather sort it out with you directly than have you raise a chargeback, but nothing here stops you exercising your rights with your card issuer or the ACCC.
Pro includes an AI assistant that answers questions about the data you have recorded. It is useful, and it is also a language model: it can be confidently wrong, it can misread your data and it does not know anything you have not recorded. Treat its answers as a starting point rather than a conclusion, and check anything that matters against your own records, the ATO or a registered tax agent before you act on it. The assistant will not make recommendations to buy, sell or hold an investment and you should not try to get it to. To answer your question we send a summary of your recorded portfolio and dividend data to our AI provider — the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what leaves the site and where it goes. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make on the strength of an AI-generated answer.
Parts of the Service present data published by others — the ATO, the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the Reserve Bank of Australia, APRA, the Fair Work Commission, state revenue offices and state valuers-general among them. Where that data is published under a Creative Commons Attribution licence we attribute the source on the page, and we link to the original so you can check it yourself. We do not control that data, we do not warrant that our copy of it is current or complete, and official figures are sometimes revised after publication. Where a number matters to a decision you are making, check it against the source we have linked. Our own presentation of that data, including the scores, rankings and derived measures we build from it, remains ours.
We want you to know what our commercial interests are. The Service is funded by Pro subscriptions and digital product sales. We may also earn a referral fee where we introduce you to a third party such as a mortgage broker or another provider. Where that applies, we say so on the page where the introduction is offered, we tell you who the provider is, we only pass your details on with your explicit consent and it never costs you anything or changes the rate or fees you are offered. Referral relationships do not influence calculator results, rankings or comparisons anywhere on the site — the numbers come from the published rates and the data sources, not from who pays us. We are not a credit assistance provider and we do not hold an Australian Credit Licence or an Australian Financial Services Licence.
Use the Service lawfully and sensibly. Do not break the law with it, try to get into accounts, systems or data that are not yours, probe or attack our infrastructure, upload malware, scrape or automate access in a way that loads our systems or ignores our robots.txt, resell or rebrand the Service as your own, pretend to be someone else or use it to harass or harm anyone. Our published widgets and embeds are the supported way to put our calculators on your own site, on the terms set out on that page. We may suspend access where we reasonably believe this section has been breached.
The data you put into the Service stays yours — saved calculations, tracker entries, payslip records, portfolio trades and anything else. You give us the limited licence we need to actually run the thing: to store it, process it, back it up, secure it and display it back to you and to send the parts described in the Privacy Policy to the providers named there. That is the extent of it. We do not use your content for marketing, we do not sell it and we do not train models on it. You are responsible for making sure what you upload is yours to upload and does not break the law. We handle retention and deletion as set out in the Privacy Policy.
The Service itself — the site, the calculators and the engines behind them, the written guides, the design, the graphics and the code — belongs to us or to our licensors and is protected by copyright. You may use it for your own personal or internal business purposes. You may quote or cite us with attribution and a link. You may not copy, republish, redistribute, sell or build a derivative product out of the Service or a substantial part of it without our written consent, and you may not use it to train a machine learning model. Nothing here cuts down the fair dealing rights the Copyright Act gives you for research, study, criticism, review or news reporting.
The Service is provided 'as is' and 'as available'. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, and we do not warrant that any calculator result, data figure or AI answer is accurate, current or suitable for your circumstances. It is general information and education only. It is not financial product advice, tax advice, credit advice or personal advice, we do not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence or an Australian Credit Licence and we are not registered tax agents. Rates, thresholds and rules change, sometimes retrospectively. Always check anything important against the ATO, the relevant regulator or a qualified professional. Our full Disclaimer sets this out in more detail and forms part of these Terms. Nothing in this section excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or other right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
To the maximum extent the law allows: we exclude liability for any indirect, consequential, special or incidental loss and for loss of profit, revenue, data or opportunity, arising from your use of or reliance on the Service; and our total liability for all claims connected with the Service is limited to whatever you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or A$100 if you have not paid us anything. Where the Australian Consumer Law applies and permits us to do so, our liability for a breach of a consumer guarantee for services is limited to resupplying the services or paying the cost of having them resupplied. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited — including the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
You agree to indemnify us and our officers, employees and agents against any loss, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service or your breach of the law or someone else's rights. This does not apply to the extent the loss was caused by our own negligence or wilful misconduct.
You can stop using the Service whenever you like and close your account from within the site. We may suspend or close your access where we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, or where we need to for legal, security or operational reasons — and other than in urgent or serious cases we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix it. If we close your account without cause while you are in a paid period, we will refund the unused portion. On termination your right to use the Service ends and we handle your data as the Privacy Policy describes. The clauses that are meant to outlive the agreement — disclaimers, liability, indemnity, intellectual property and governing law — survive it.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales and the Commonwealth of Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales. If you are a consumer, nothing here deprives you of the protection of the laws of the place where you live.
Please come to us first. Email hello@ozfinancehub.com.au with what happened and what you would like done about it, and we will work through it with you in good faith. Most things get resolved this way and quickly. If we cannot resolve it between us you are free to take it further, and nothing in this section stops you complaining to a regulator — the OAIC for privacy, the ACCC or your state fair trading office for consumer matters — or seeking urgent relief from a court.
If any part of these Terms turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, it is read down or severed to the smallest extent needed and the rest keeps working. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. These Terms and the documents they refer to are the whole agreement between us about the Service. We may transfer our rights and obligations, including if the business is sold; you may not transfer yours without our written consent.
Questions about these Terms, or anything else, go to hello@ozfinancehub.com.au.
